At our headquarters in Madrid we have a proton therapy unit, the only one in Europe with a Hitachi synchrotron to accelerate protons.
Dosimetry
In radiotherapy treatments, the radiophysicist ensures that the dose prescribed by the physician is correctly administered to the patient.
We currently have the iPlan, Adac Pinnacle and Monaco external radiotherapy planners. We also have the deformable registry MIM program.
Quality Control
In the most complex radiotherapy plans (90% of those we do in the cun) we perform a quality control of each treatment, using special equipment: Delta4 from Scandidos (one in each location), MatriXX from IBA.
Quality Control
The radiophysics personnel have to carry out a careful quality control of the radiotherapy machines, to ensure their correct operation.
Versa HD
For external radiotherapy treatments, we have two state-of-the-art linear accelerators, Versa HD, one in each location. It has a 6D robotic table, and positioning and guidance systems with radiological image (XVI, IView), ultrasound (Clarity) and visible light (Sentinel-Catalyst)
External Radiation Therapy
We routinely perform complex treatments such as radiosurgery (with Fraxion stereotactic frame), hypofractionated radiotherapy (SBRT), sustained inspiration treatment and 4D image based treatments (Symetry).
Brachytherapy
The Clinic has two deferred loading systems for high rate brachytherapy Oncentra Flexitron HDR, one at each site. It is planned with CT and MRI images within the operating room.
We also perform low rate prostate implants, with real time planning.
Intraoperative Electron Beam Therapy
At the Madrid headquarters we have a portable electron accelerator, which is introduced in an operating room to irradiate during a surgical operation.
