Treatment of non-malignant chronic pain: paradigm shift and multidisciplinary management

We have read with interest the article Nonpharmacological therapies for chronic nononcologic pain: patient perceptions by Ruiz-Romero et al1 published in issue 44 of the journal Anales del Sistema Sanitario de Navarra, which has led us to reflect on this very interesting topic. The treatment of chronic non-oncologic pain is undoubtedly one of the great challenges of medicine in our century. Not only does it affect a significant proportion of the population, but its chronic nature also has a sustained impact over time, with the consequent loss of quality of life for the patients who suffer from it.....
