Nurses. Outpatient Area

As members of a multidisciplinary team, nurses are responsible for following the outpatient process of the patient and providing care through evidence-based and innovative practices.

Their key functions include evaluating the patient upon arrival at the consultation; providing health education and advice on treatment, medication, and lifestyle changes. They perform certain procedures and treatments, as well as administer medication.

They will be responsible for coordinating the patient's care, such as scheduling appointments, referring to specialists, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals, while maintaining accurate and complete records during the visit. When necessary, they will conduct follow-ups to monitor the patient's progress and response to treatment.

Nurses. Inpatient Area

Enfermería de Hospitalización

As part of a multidisciplinary team, nurses are responsible for following the patient's care process and providing care through innovative practices, efficiently utilizing available resources. They are also committed to keeping their own training up-to-date and providing training when required.

Their functions include the individual and continuous assessment of the patient's health status to establish a care plan according to their health situation; providing health education to the patient and their family, covering informational needs regarding their health process; comprehensive patient care, ensuring quality care at different stages; maintaining proper records of their activities to ensure the continuity of patient care. They also manage various technological equipment, resources, and materials for the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of patients; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in decision-making related to each patient's care; and develop, implement, and/or evaluate service standards and protocols to ensure quality and safety in care.

Our nurses practice evidence-based care aimed at improving the quality of patient care. Additionally, they participate in the training of students and other Clinic professionals to acquire knowledge for the benefit of patient care.

Midwives

Matronas

Our midwives are nurses specialized in women's care. They provide comprehensive care for sexual, reproductive, and maternal health in preventive, promotional, and curative aspects, including care for the mother in the diagnosis, control, and assistance during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as care for the healthy newborn until the 28th day of life.

Their functions include assessing the health status of the pregnant woman and fetus during pregnancy; promoting health, providing health education, and conducting prenatal follow-up during scheduled midwife consultations and monitors; assessing, monitoring, and supporting during the active phase of labor and/or cesarean section.

They also follow up during the postpartum period, providing health care and education at discharge; they are responsible for the evaluation, education, and follow-up of breastfeeding, and for the personalized follow-up and support with the "CUN te acompaña" program in cases of poor pregnancy prognosis and perinatal grief.

Auxiliary Nursing Care Technicians (ANCTs)

Our Auxiliary Nursing Care Technicians (ANCTs), as part of a multidisciplinary team, are responsible for patient care, accompanying them throughout their entire care process, ensuring they feel welcomed, heard, respected, and well cared for.

They are present in various healthcare areas, supporting nurses and doctors in providing excellent care to patients and their families.

They play an effective role, ensuring the quality of patient care and the smooth operation of clinical activities.

ANCTs. Outpatient Area

Their key functions include patient care - reception, preparation, and taking vital signs; assisting in medical procedures - physical exams, minor procedures, preparation, and sterilization of medical instruments; managing materials and equipment - control and replenishment of medical supplies and maintaining cleanliness and order in the work area; documentation and administrative tasks - medical histories and records, appointment management, consultation schedules, and processing documentation and forms; and general support such as handling and managing phone inquiries, coordinating with other departments and health services, and providing emotional support and accompaniment to patients and their families.

ANCTs. Hospitalization Area

Their functions include nursing support for the individualized assessment of the patient's health status, assisting in the development of the care plan; recording the activities of auxiliary nursing care to ensure continuity and patient safety; managing and maintaining the service's technological equipment to ensure its proper functioning.

They also participate in the process of developing, implementing, and/or evaluating specific service standards and protocols to improve the quality and safety of patient care. Additionally, they collaborate in the training of students and newly hired professionals at the Clinic.

Pharmacy Technicians

Our pharmacy technicians participate in the patient's health process by supporting various areas and clinical professionals in the pharmacological treatment of different diseases and conditions.

Their functions include managing, receiving, dispensing, and ensuring the entire process related to the medication administered to patients for their health treatment. They also prepare medications used for specific health treatments such as chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.

Laboratory Technicians

Laboratory Technicians

Our team of laboratory technicians performs a variety of crucial functions for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Their main responsibilities include processing and conducting tests; maintaining equipment; recording test results in the Clinic's information systems; and quality control to ensure the accuracy and validity of laboratory results.

They also ensure compliance with safety regulations, proper handling of biological materials, and use of protective equipment; communicate and participate in the interpretation of test results; manage inventory of laboratory materials and supplies; and perform teaching duties by taking responsibility for the training and supervision of students in training.

All these responsibilities, along with continuous education and training, allow them to provide excellent care to our patients and their families.

Radiology Technicians

Our team of radiology technicians plays a crucial role in the healthcare field. They are part of a multidisciplinary team and are responsible for handling and caring for patients who come to the radiology unit for imaging studies, which are essential for the diagnostic process.

Their mission is to obtain high-quality images that support radiologists in the effective analysis and communication of diagnostic tests performed in conventional radiology, ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, nuclear medicine, and mammography.

Their key functions include operating and handling imaging equipment to obtain the most precise diagnostic images possible; preparing patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and proper positioning during the exam; and applying safety regulations to protect patients and professionals from radiation exposure.

They also process and evaluate images for subsequent interpretation by radiologists; maintain equipment; and record and manage data, including technical details and observations that facilitate diagnosis.

These functions, along with continuous training and teamwork, are essential to ensure accurate and effective diagnoses, significantly contributing to the treatment and care of patients.

Radiotherapy Technicians

Our radiotherapy technicians are a fundamental pillar in the treatment of our oncology patients. They are integrated within a multidisciplinary team that includes other healthcare professionals, radiotherapy oncologists, nurses, and physicists, who participate in the daily care and attention of the patient.

They are responsible for applying treatments with maximum precision through innovative equipment and practices. They provide personalized, safe, and high-quality care, always keeping the patient at the center of their attention.

Other functions include the application of radiotherapy treatment to the patient; the process of informing and educating the patient and their family about the treatment to be carried out, providing them with security and support during the process. They are also responsible for the operation of all technological equipment necessary for the treatments.

Prosthetic Audio Technician

Our audioprosthetists have key functions and responsibilities focused on evaluating and treating patients' hearing problems. They perform audiological tests and assess patients for hearing aid fitting, follow-up, and repairs.

Their most common functions include conducting hearing evaluations to determine patients' hearing levels and interpreting results to identify hearing issues; fitting hearing aids and other auditory devices based on each patient's needs, as well as programming and calibrating hearing aids to provide the appropriate level of amplification.

They also educate and advise patients on the use and care of hearing aids.

These functions, along with continuous updates in their field and interdisciplinary work, enable them to offer comprehensive and high-quality service to patients with hearing problems, improving their quality of life through better hearing.

Pathological Anatomy Technicians

Our team of pathological anatomy technicians is part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for processing biopsies and cytological studies performed on patients. They interpret and validate the results to support clinical/medical diagnosis or to request complementary diagnostic techniques to offer better health treatment to the patient.

Their key functions include preparing and processing biological samples for histological, cytological, and molecular analysis; performing staining and coloration techniques to facilitate microscopic observation; handling equipment and technology; ensuring quality and safety in the laboratory, as well as preventing occupational risks; and documenting and recording data to ensure the traceability and confidentiality of patient information. These competencies allow them to play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, contributing to the quality and accuracy of diagnostic results.

Thanks to the possibilities offered by the latest technologies, the Pathological Anatomy area enables all professionals to improve diagnostic precision, prognosis, and the provision of the most appropriate therapeutic alternative for each patient, according to their circumstances, especially in lung cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, and the entire field of urological and gynecological pathology.

Social Workers

Our team of social workers accompanies patients and their families to help them face the various problems that may arise during their healthcare process at the Clinic.

Their work spans different areas: health, family, economic-labor, social, among others. Their main objective is to walk alongside patients and families, providing solutions to identified needs with appropriate resources, always focusing on the patient and their well-being.

Their professional activity covers the psychosocial aspects of patients and their families through the study, diagnosis, and treatment of the various social factors that contribute to health promotion.

Their functions include the assessment, information, and guidance of the patient and their family; the performance of social diagnoses and treatments; the management of resources related to access to social resources and benefits; the management and promotion of social and health resources; and coordination with social and health services and programs.

Health Care Team

Our team of healthcare professionals is responsible for assisting patients in their health process and providing transversal support to the Clinic's professionals in various tasks that are key to guaranteeing excellent care for the patient and their family.

Their functions include personal hygiene and care of patients; supporting the transfer to interventions and clinical procedures; transporting laboratory samples and blood bank supplies. They also perform sterilization tasks and the transport and processing of bed linens and clinical uniforms.

Nutritionists

Our professionals have a variety of crucial functions for patient care and well-being. They are present in outpatient and inpatient clinical areas, as well as in the Diet Service of the Central Food Department.

Their specific professional knowledge and competencies—clinical, oncological, perinatal, geriatric, pediatric, renal, and sports nutrition—combined with interdisciplinary work, active listening, and a holistic view of their patients, enable them to provide excellent and tailored care to meet patients' health needs.

Some of their main responsibilities include nutritional evaluation to identify potential deficiencies or excesses; diet planning that aligns with individualized meal plans based on patients' medical needs; nutritional education and counseling for patients and their families on healthy eating practices, chronic disease management, and other nutrition-related aspects.

They also provide nutritional support by supervising and adjusting enteral (tube feeding) and parenteral (intravenous) nutrition therapies when necessary, ensuring patients receive appropriate nutrients; monitoring patients' nutritional status; overseeing the preparation and distribution of meals in the hospital; and training hospital staff on nutrition and diet-related topics to improve patient care.

These functions are essential to promote recovery, maintain health, and improve the quality of life for both outpatient and hospitalized patients.

Physiotherapists

Physical therapists in a hospital play a crucial role in the recovery and maintenance of patients' mobility and physical function. They work in direct collaboration with a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation who diagnoses and assesses each patient's needs and performs follow-ups.

The area is divided into different care lines according to the reason for treatment: Cardiovascular-Respiratory, Sports, Extremities, Pediatric, Lymphatic-Venous, Neurological, Spinal, Pelvic Floor, and Oncological. Their goals include helping the patient with their motor and sensory functionality; alleviating their pain; improving their quality of life; educating the patient; preventing potential injuries, among others.

Their main functions include the evaluation and diagnosis of the physical and functional state of patients through specific exams and tests to identify problems related to strength and coordination; planning personalized treatments based on the specific needs of patients, considering their medical condition, goals, and capabilities; rehabilitation for patients with injuries, chronic diseases, recent surgeries, or disabilities; pain management with different techniques and therapies that help relieve pain and improve physical function; and educating and advising patients and families about the patient's condition, specific exercises, and strategies to prevent injuries or relapses.

These functions allow physical therapists to significantly contribute to the well-being and recovery of patients within the hospital environment.
