Acute iodide sialadenitis (AIS) is a toxic adverse reaction observed in the salivary glands following the administration of iodinated contrast media (ICM). It presents as glandular enlargement caused by duct obstruction due to local inflammatory edema. Typically, symptoms are mild and resolve spontaneously within a few days. Allergic angioedema is included in the differential diagnosis.
