The Bod Pod system measures body fat and lean mass through air displacement.
It is an accurate, fast and easy to use method for body composition analysis. The patient remains seated in a fiberglass capsule while the device measures the amount of fat according to the changes in air pressure in the closed chamber.
The test lasts about fifteen minutes, during which the patient remains seated, breathing through a small tube at the rhythm indicated by a nurse, who follows the guidelines of a computer.
This test is of great diagnostic value, since the concept of obesity does not refer to excess weight, but to fat.
