This is a dual source and energy scanner, which, being 50% less radiant than conventional equipment allows for earlier detection of hidden tumours and helps to evaluate the response to cancer treatments in advance.

One of the main characteristics of the Somatom Force is that it has two X-ray tubes that can operate at different energies to obtain highly sensitive spectral images that provide relevant information on the composition of the tissues and the distribution of the contrast medium within the body.

It also allows for the optimisation of the amount of iodised contrast needed to carry out the examinations, with a reduction of up to 30%, reducing the possible side effects derived from its use, such as kidney damage.
